The Emma Hofmann Memorial Fund raises funds to ensure that small gestures of kindness continue to radiate outward throughout our community.
The Emma Hofmann Memorial Fund operates via two central efforts: about 60% of utilized funds go directly to donations for folks in need, and 40% are utilized via the annual scholarship.
Communal Donations for those in need
On a routine basis, co-founders Bob and Kathy Hofmann utilize the fund to provide donations to individuals and families in need: used cars for families struggling to transport their children to and from school, clothing and food, grocery store gift cards, as well as financial contributions towards families experiencing the hardship that comes with illness.
The Emma Hofmann Memorial Scholarship
Members of the Scituate High School graduating class are asked to nominate a peer as someone they consider to be unwaveringly KIND. The students are asked to write a short essay in which they are able to describe their nominee. The essays are simple yet beautiful.
